AVH-P3100 installing DVD help

I connected everything and it all works good. The only thing I left out intentionally was the MINT GREEN wire that has the fuse and is suppose to go to the power supply of the parking brake...

where is this?

I have 7 wires left from the wire harness.

4 - brown
1 - pink
1 - orange/white
1 - orange/black

where is the power supply of the parking brake??

thnx

Not sure where 4 brown wires came from but I don't have the harness or schematics in front of me. Your manual will tell you.
Pink is maybe the reverse wire for back up camera though it may be purple.
Orange white is dimmer.
Orange black is positive 12v lighting. Cap it off.

Do not connect the light green wire to 12v. It goes to the ground on your parking brake so that you can watch video. If you want to watch video all the time you can bypass it with a relay.

Yes. You have to apply your emergency brake in order to watch video. This keeps you from watching it while in motion (driving).
What are you installing it in?

I can't get my camera in good to take a picture. There will be a wire coming off the parking brake assy. Connect it with that. Like I said, you can also bypass the parking brake wire with a relay and watch video at anytime. Take you own risk with that as it is illegal in many states.

Go to the parts store or electronics store and get a relay and some female spade connectors. It's really easy to do.

Connect a ground wire to terminal #30 and terminal #86.
Connect the blue with white stripe wire from the dvd player to terminal #85.
Connect the light green wire from the dvd player to terminal #87.
Leave #87a blank.

Every time the dvd player turns on it will trip the relay and the unit will think the parking brake was just applied.

you shouldnt have too. Look at your parking brake assemply. Right at the top of it there is a plug with a wire coming out of it. That is the wire you need. If you feel the need to take the kick off, it should just be held in with clips.

Light Green/Red is the one you want.

All that wire does is make it so the DVD player only works while the parking brake is engaged.
