Does any one know how to get the steering wheel controls working on an audiophile HU that came out of a truck that did not have wheel controls?

I sold my audiophile unit that came out of my 07 fx4 that did not have wheel controls to a member who also has an 07 with wheel controls (Bert44) and now his wheel controls do not work.

Does he need to get the unit reprogrammed to activate the wheel controls?

 

I have the some problem with my HU, it comes from a f150 with out Steering Wheel controls, "Low_e_Red" reply "the unit need reprogrammed by certains dealer"
