Install questions

I'm looking for suggestions on what yall use to ground your units? mines got a ground cable thats like a foot and a half long, what do you suggest?

edit- nevermind the harness i got has a ground on it. but I have more questions- the head unit has a wire that says "to accessory terminal on the fuse box", and the harness has a wire "12 volts switched power". Do I connect those 2?
I feel dumb asking these two, but i'm paranoid and afraid I'll mess something up and it won't work, so i will
I don't have a power antenna, but can I connect the wires on the unit/harness anyway just so they're not bare?
theres a wire on the adapter that just says "dimmer", and a wire on the unit that says "light control switch". i'm assuming those 2 go together?

match the colors up, its not that difficult.

Yellow to Yellow (12v constant)
Red to Red (12v Switched)
Black to Black (Ground)
White, Gray, Purple and Green are speakers wires (solid is positive, black striped in negative)
Theres no need to hook up the blues since your truck doesnt have power antenna, just cap them off.
Very rarely do I hook up the dimmer, just because on some cars it will cause major problems.

Ill only hook up the Illum wire if the radio is fairly bright. (Most screens, OEL display radios)
