Factory in dash changer?

I just bought an '01 4x4 Supercrew and it has the cassette player head unit with CD changer controls. Problem is there is no CD changer unit. I want to put in a 6 disc in-dash changer head unit that is factory like the one my '03 Mustang has. Did Ford make them for the F150's? If so, how do I go about making one work in my truck after I find and then buy one? Does it need a code re-flash? Will units from other Fords work in the F150? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

I have put a 6 disk in-dash in a 2002 F150 SCrew that had a single disk. The first thing you need to know is how many connectors are on the back of yours and find a HU that has the same number. If you do find a HU from a F150 it should fit. Mine came out of some other Ford vehicle and it stuck out just a little. May need to remove a metal bracket. I still have the disk chager after being forced to up grade to 2005 SCrew. A Jeep tried to park itself inside my bed of the truck.
