New system installed today - WooHoo!
Good riddance to that POS stock radio.
I hated it the minute I test drove the truck, and have been scheming to replace it ever since then.
I had a seriously hard time choosing the components for this system because the budget was tight, which meant some sacrifices had to be made. However, I am very happy with the overall system performance, functionality, and the quality of the installation. Here's what I got:
Kenwood DDX-512
Kenwood KTC-HR200 HD Radio Tuner
Alpine PDX-4.150
Alpine SPR-57C front speakers
JL Audio Stealthbox (loaded with W3v3 sub)
My initial review after 3 hours of testing and tinkering:
I really love the user interface and overall features of the DDX-512. I chose it as a temporary solution to hold me over until I can afford the 812, but it really is a nice unit. I'll enjoy this one until then.
The front speakers were the toughest sacrifice, because when I heard the Boston Pro60SE's I was in love. The Alpines perform nicely though (for coaxials), and will earn a tough living in my truck until they get retired to the back doors next year.
No sacrifices on the amp. The PDX-4.150 is exactly what I wanted, and does its work effortlessly from under the passenger side front seat. I was pleased that I didn't have to relocate the jack.
The sub is FANTASTIC!!! It's very accurate, and with a pair of the PDX chanels bridged into it, it delivers WAY MORE bass that most of my rock and classic rock requires.
to JL for a great sounding sub that blends right in with the interior.
Props to Mike over at Bob ans Ron's Worldwide Stereo for giving me a great deal, and doing a flawless installation.
I haven't had any daylight yet to take some pics, but I'll post some up ASAP.

I finally got a couple of minutes of daylight to take pics (not enough time to vacuum first, as you can see :o )
I discovered that the jack did indeed NOT fit, because the Stealthbox intrudes into its space. No biggie, except for the fact that the jack was the only reason why I asked them to put the amp under the front seat. Oh well, when I get my second amp, it will have that spot all to itself.
Nothing you haven't seen here before, but here's a couple of pics:
