ok all i recently sold my 05 Screw and bought a 03 reg cab. the dbl din pioneer was a brreeze to put in the 05 but according to pioneer it will not fit in the 03 becasue according to them the depth isint as much in the 03. If anyone has put a dbl din in a older style "97-03" dash please let me know what all you ran into. i did some searching here but didnt find anything but my search terms might have been off.

Lots of us have put a double dins in our earlier trucks. I put a D3 in mine. There is some cutting involved but it only took about 20 minutes to make it fit nicely. The plastic bracket that holds the stock radio is tapered in the back and that plastic has to be removed in order for the new double din to fit all the way in. Also about 1/4" of the top behind the bezel has to be trimmed. It's really easy to do but go slow and measure twice, cut once type of thing. Get a bracket kit and a wiring harness before you install. I got mine off ebay for the Pioneer D3. The whole install including adding my back up camera and bluetooth box took a couple of hour tops. Now I have Nav, DVD, back up camera and bluetooth all for around $500 . Best mod for my truck yet.

 

Very easy to do. Just run a search here on DDin's in 97-03 body. I have done mine plus countless customers. Metra 95-5026 works nicely for some needed trim.

Ipod box there is a perfect fit for it directly behind the glovebox.

Everything else fits well up top under the oval.. Including GPS and Sat radio antennas.
