Another Quick Double Din Question

I have researched the idea of installing a double DIN in a 2003 screw. The only thing that i can't seem to find an answer for is whether or not the stock bezel will fit back on after the modifications to the mounting bracket. It looks like most of the photos that i have found feature some type of custom bezel, woodgrain, camo or something.

Can someone help me out??

thanks

There's a couple of people on here with them in our trucks.. But apparently it took way to much work than is worth it.

If anyone proves me wrong, let me know. Every sound place i've went to said they wouldn't put a DD in there without having to mod it up.

First school me.....what is a bezel? Is that the paneling around your unit, AC controls, etc. I just purchased Kenwood DD for my '06 Lariat. I didn't have to mod anything. I pulled off the paneling, removed the old unit, and secured the new unit with the supplied mounting bracket. It turned out great.

Not sure if I answered your question, but hope this helps.

Yes I am referring to the trim piece that surrounds the head unit and has the AC vent in it.

thanks

You're trim might be different than my '06. Mine surrounds the head unit and AC controls. There are no vents. I didn't have to modify anything. I can take a pic if you want and send it to you. Let me know. Still learning how to apply pics to the site. I can get it to you quicker via email

Heres a finished pic.

I did it in my 03screw and i had to trim the underside of the dash so that the dvd player would open up.

Also i had to trim the whole sleeve so that the deck would fit. I had to trim it on top and on the bottom.

Took a little bit of time, but it's worth it.
