there is an update for that echo problem you have. you can contact pioneer and get the update disc for free. the only problem is depending on what year your z1 is made you will have to bypass it differently. also depending on the phone you have you may just be out of luck anyways. they know about the problem but there isn't a whole lot you can do. for example if you have a razor the problem stays but if you have an iphone the problem is fixed. just depends. hope that helps!

Where I removed the radio the smaller cable on the right is for the Sirius, and then you can see on the Sirius tuner itself the cable that plugs into it.

Sorry I can't tell you more. Maybe Low_e can shed some light beyond this..
The sirius is held in the 16 pin auxillary harness on the rear of the radio.

The antenna is able to be used on an aftermarket sirius.

Head on over to AVIC411.com. When you do the BT update you will have to change your bypass from a illum flash to a 2 wire bypass. But all the necessary info will be on that site.

Also, mic placement is the #1 factor in picking up echoes... Steering wheel is a great place. Mine is on the A-Pillar and uses the left spk and picks up a good bit of echo. But mine is also amplified and that definately doesnt help at all.

People on ebay are selling those sirius units. I have seen them sell for over $200. If your planning on selling the HU might as well sell the sirius.

I am holding on to all of the stock gear. I trade trucks every 4-6 years and I've found that you'll never get a dime of an upgrade back and at times it actually costs you. When the truck goes it'll be equiped exactly as it was the day I bought it. Not bad advice though, you're right, lots of folks shell out good cash for OEM pulls..

Just got my d3x. I love it so far just need to buy the sirius and hook it up. Install went great between your thread and some posts by low_e_red and avic411.com. Hooked up the bypass, bluetooth and ipod cable no problems. Thanks guys, still need to setup and fine tune but I am very happy with my purchase.

Anyone try the new Kenwood 5120 yet? I love my Avic D3 but as similar as the Kenwood looked I'm curious how it stands up..

It does. You just need to get the wiring harness specific to the audiophile stock radio. It has two harnesses instead of just the one..
