clarion indash dvd to cd player?

seriously considering pulling my Clarion indash DVD/CD flip-out screen and replacing it with a CD player..either a clarion, alpine, or eclipse. I havent used the video in months. I guess I really only have it for the bling factor...haha... so its pretty useless... Need some opinions, should I replace it with a CD player, and if so which one?

low, whats your experience with the alpine cda-9886 if any? any opinion on it how it looks, performs, etc. My last alpine deck was the CDA-9835 and I LOVED it, unfortunately it burned up in my tacoma when the truck caught on fire and they had replaced the unit with the 9855 by that time so I couldnt get another one. Only other deck that ever sounded that good was my old Nakamichi CD-40z that I had to get imported from Japan, but unfortunately the Nakamichi corporation got bought out and they never really showed any interest in things like Ipod integration, etc. which I feel is extremely necessary.

And I totally understand the bling factor of the flipout, but my other issue that is bugging me about the screen is how rough it gets treated. The screen gets bounced around quite a bit when Im riding out to the land I hunt and fish on regularly...Not to mention my usual front seat passenger is a rapidly growing Weimaraner puppy whose currently weighing in at around 55 pounds and should top out at about 95 pounds in the next six months or so. She has taken an interest in the screen and continuously pokes it with her nose and paws at it...
