GPS Antenna locations

I am getting ready to add the Nav unit to my Kenwood 6019 (finally).

Looking for suggestions on where to put the antenna .. I have seen some guys have it up unde the cowl, some up under the dash ..

For those of you that have it inside the cab, up under the dash .. any reception issues?

Under the dash in the U groove behind the radio works great for the F150s.

I have put GPS antennas under the dash in multiple customers vehicles. As long as there is no metal over it and a decent line of sight to the open sky, you are in the clear.

I just recently installed the Kenwood DNX 7100 and I put the antenna in the black tray that sits on the dash. I just drilled a hole big enough in the hard shell part for the male end connector to stick through and then cut out an outline of the antenna itself in the visible rubber part. Looks factory and the reception is great!

it's under the plastic molding pocket above the stereo, the antenna is magnetic
I'd put it near the A pillar base, right next to the panel on top of the dash, I had my old XM antenna there and it was out of site well enough
