factory h/u problems

factory h/u problems

i have the 6 disk h/u and i was trying to load a cd the other day and the head unit would not take it. now it says that there are 6 cds in there when i know there are 2. is there a way to reset the entire h/u?

Did you try disconnecting battery for 2 min?

yes i have tried that and i even did the whole key on/off thing until the doors lock too. it worked once but when i tried to load a cd again i am back to the same prob. now i cant get it to work at all.

Try taking the + terminal off the battery and holding it to the - (still on batt) for 30 sec.

Surprisingly no, It just discharges the caps in the truck. I was a little scared the first time i did it too.

As far as I know It will clear trouble codes too.

not 100% sure yet. Ive got the radio to reset to where it shows i only have 2 cds in and the front cover is closed, but i havent tried to load another cd. also the cds in the radio are playable again. i will get back to you guys after work today.
