The head unit on my '99 V6 F-150 was removed by the previous owner before he sold it to me. I now have a void in my dashboard. I purchased a new sony Xplod model CDX-GT22W to replace the missing unit. Unfortunately the previous owner cut the connectors off when he removed his other unit. All I'm left with now is bare wires and that "void." It appears that the truck has the "Premium Sound System." I went to the InstallDr. website and got the wiring diagram to match up what the old wires are connected to. But the site does not have the diagrams for the "amp." I matched up all the connections from the old and the new according to the diagram that came with the Sony but the unit still doesn't power up. And.... there are numerous wires left over.
Can anyone tell me how to hook up my new stereo and have it work. I have read the other threads about head unit installs and everyone just says buy the connectors that fit the factory connectors. I don't have any factory connectors to connect to. I also need to know how the amp connects in.
Any takers on suggestions?
