For a little over $200 I got the Pioneer Premier DEH-P690UB which allows control of an Ipod through the receiver or an USB hard drive. Wire harness, antenna adapter and dash kit was around $45. I did the install myself.
One tip I'll give on the install is to mount the HU sleeve such that the bottom is out one more setting than the top (meaning that if you looked at a side profile the rear of the sleeve would slope down) and place about 3 washers behind the top 2 screw of the mount so that it sets the kit flush with the dash bezel.
I didn't install any speaker yet, but I have some 6-1/2" Boston Acoustic components that I'm going to try and figure out how to fit into the 6x8 openings.
BTW I have an '08 XLT 150 crew cab.

well, i gotn the head unit. other components will have to wait, but i went with an alpine 9884 head unit. it has full speed ipod connection through an ipod input jack through the glove box. ipod is controlled through the head unit. it puts out 50w per channel, which is over 25w more than the stock. so far, so good!
