Best HU for Under $300

I'm looking to buy a new HU in the next two weeks to replace my factory one. I want it to be HD compatable and ipod conectablility. I'm leaning towards this one but would like some input from others with aftermarket head units. Thanks

i am going down the same road that you are. i just bought an audiophile head unit from an 04 truck, the only reason being that i wanted an after market system with a factory head, but the damn thing won't play mp3 discs, and then plays burnt discs only half the time. it skips thru really fast. i burned 100 bucks buying it.....but anway back on topic. i am debating getting that kenwood dpx502, but i went to crutchfield site and it has some pretty rotten reviews.....i really like the jvc kw-xg700. it is double din and is simliar to the kenwood, but it doesn't have the hd ready radio option, which is a bummer. but i got sirius sat radio for christmas, so i figure between the sat radio, reg radio, and cd's/mp3 cd's, i would have plenty to listen too. it has gotten far beter reviews.

Have you looked into the JVC KD-HDR1 175? Thats not a bad little radio. HD tuner built in. And you can pick up the JVC-IP100 for all of $40.
215 for the HD and Ipod.

I just ordered the JVC KD-HDR1 175 with the JVC-IP100. I also ordered Alpine Type R components up front and Type R 5x7s for rear. I'll post results after install.
