Anyone else get the HD Radio

As part of the purchase agreement on my '07, the dealer agreed to install the new Ford HD radio unit. They finished it today and I'll just say it's a night-and-day difference. Not all the stations are in HD at this point, but the ones that are sound awesome.

Cool, is it an add-on module or a whole new HU?

It's an add-in module that goes tucks up behind the center console. I found the original manufacturer's link for it: http://www.peripheralelectronics.com...XAMG/index.asp

Dealer prices:279 list for the HD radio, 299 list with the IPOD adapter that lets the head unit controls also run your IPOD

This is very high on my buy list right now.

Also at the same time I am going to add the 07 tray and cable to get AUX in, and I am also looking for an XM radio kit (TERK claims theirs will not work with the F150, I think they are wrong)that will run off the HU

That might be a moot point when Sirius eats XM and all the XM radios become obsolete.

(if you are "in the trade" and get the discounts, mine is 20% from the local dealer, it is not a bad deal, for 240 bucks)

ALL old Sirius and XM units will remain operational. New models may have new options but if you read each companies "promises" about the merger it is covered.
