Head Unit - Brandmotion Ipod Direct

Got a quick question. I just bought the Brandmotion Ipod Direct Connect. I tried to put it in earlier but ran into a problem. On the back of the Head Unit there is the place for the 16 Pin Connector to hook up, but I can not find the wire that should hook up to it. Where would this be? I have a 2005 F150 XLT, without the satellite radio.

Thanks

No it is not a MP3 headunit, nor is it a Sattelite, nor does it have a 6disk changer...it does not have the steering wheel radio controls. It only has the single disk CD. I am just wondering if I should plug it in?

Thanks

I believe it won't work unless you have an mp3/satalite hu.

Have you called the Brandmotion center? That'd be a place to start. If your radio does have the CAN bus programming inside it should work with the adapter. The representative at Brandmotion can tell you if your radio is compatible.

If I'm reading your quote correctly, then you have the socket for the 16 pin connector on the radio, but there isn't a connection from the vehicle to the radio. If that is true, then go ahead & plug both of the Brandmotion plugs into the radio & connect the 24 pin to the vehicle. You may need to have the iPod plugged in to the adapter before you turn on the radio. Having the iPod plugged in will make sure that the radio CAN bus is "activated" & then you should be able to push the AUX button & hear the music from the iPod.

I've not heard of the 16 pin connector going AWOL in the F-150, but the '07 Focus doesn't have a 16 pin connector & the Brandmotion adapter works with that vehicle (if the procedure described above is followed).
