Radio Display Problems, blank, flickering, not working, etc.

Fixed the CD player version too!

The CD player version was fixed by resoldering the same numbered resistors. The are all to the right on the board.

i too know this is an old thread however i bought an 99 f150 last week and the radio had this same issue. I know i could have replaced but i don't need all the bells and whistles of the radios out now and this saved me a bit of money.

Resurrecting an old thread.
I just purchased a 99 F150. Radio had the same symptom. My radio has cassette and no CD.
Looks a little different than the one Ryan posted.
I took it apart and couldn't SEE a bad solder on either resistor, but barely touching one made if fall off.
Soldered it back in place and display works fine.

Thanks again to this board. Too bad Ryan didn't stick around.

Fixed my wagon :)

Read the general instructions on other pages but your pictures and part numbers were the ticket. Also fixed my blinking odometer similarly while I was behind the dash. If your still haunting here my 99 expy thanks you aND I owe you a beer.
