'07 F150 wire harness ?s

What is the second, smaller wire harness on the back of my factory radio? Is that for the auxillary input? The reason I ask is that I am putting in an aftermarket head unit and the wire harness that Crutchfield supplied me only has the harness adapter for the larger Ford harness in the truck.

i had the same question when i put mine in, i think it has to do with either the audophile system that some trucks have or the Satalite radio thing, but either way you dont need it
i put my harness on and my new radio works just fine with out the little plug
did you get the antenna adapter to, because i needed one to install my radio
i ended up installing my H/U in the parking lot of Bestbuy-(long story)-but got it in

No...I didn't get the antenna adapter. I didn't realize I needed one. Dammit...something else to buy...lol! Oh well, I can live without it for a little bit. Once I have my Sirius and Ipod back I rarely listen to regular radio anyway.

yeah, i didnt know i needed the adapter till i was in middle of install(another trip back into the store, dang 10 minute job turned into like 2.5 hours in Bestbuy parking lot)
i do not use sirius radio or ipod in my truck, so im not sure if the plug has to do with that, but if i wanted it i think thats run through my H/U anyways
ok i just checked and confirmed

That plug will be either for the factory amp for the audiophile systems, or the AUX...if its for the sub, the harness will have only 4 wires out of it, 3 in 1 horizontal pin lineup and 1 vertical to one on the end...If you have the sub not turn on let me know I'll post how to get it going.

If that's not the case nevermind

Nope, no factory sub. The Sirius and Ipod run directly through my Alpine head unit so I won't have any need for that other plug.

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it!
