Are you saying that by doing this your able to use the AUX input on the top tray in the truck to work with the Z2? If so Im taking it that this will allow me to plug in anytype of MP3 player not just the IPOD and control it from the Z2's interface. Is this what you are saying? I will love to do this but I will need you help on it. Thanks alot.

theirs an auxiliary input on the Z2 but whats gay about it is that its in behind the unit and not anywhere infront. the purpose of hooking this up as posted above would be to do its exact function as it did before when you had the factory head unit in your truck. you would just switch the av setting on the Z2 to aux, you would not be able to control it from the Z2 interface, the only thing you could control is volume. the rest would have to be controlled right from the source. the advantage of wiring this up though is so you dont have the aux wire coming out of your dash in a random place and especially if you have that aux spot in your tray, you may as well make it useful. plus it makes it easy if you use it a lot, say your laptop, your ipod(if you dont have the adapter) or other mp3 players, portable dvd player, etc.

Low e i found what we need

I understand what's going on and Im loving it b/c I wanted to be able to use the AUX input in my 07 with my Z2. What I dont understand is how to go about this procdure.

What adapter or plug do I need (please be more specific)
and what wires do I need to connect them to on the truck (can I just tap into what's already their.

Fella's please help me by being more specific as I am more than willing to do this mod. You guys dont know how long I've been waiting to do this

Also

I was looking at that plug on the left. What does the Grey connector connect to? I take it that the red and white audio plugs will connect to the wires on the Z2 harnes. Where in the hell do those blue wires go.

Actually thats not it. There is a 16 pin plug that the aux in is in. that is connector C290C (subwoofer/audiophile harness.) The C290B is a Entertainment/CanBus harness.

In order to do the mod I figured out, you will half to splice wires. Unless you are really good with pulling molds of connectors....

Thats cool. Just let me know and I will walk you through it. This mod is SLICK.

Using that input, you will have to control the iPod with the iPod, not the Z2 interface. That is only an audio input.
