What would you do - radio problems???

03 Lariat, OEM stereo with a single disc player. Over the weekend, the disc player decided to stop working properly. It won't read and play CDs...

So, I've been looking at upgrading the stereo anyway to a 6 disc changer, but I am not sure if I should just swap out my OEM single for an OEM 6 disc, or upgrade the unit itself.

I'm pretty happy with the way it sounded and functioned before, and I'm not looking to spend a boatload on a new audio system because it isn't worth it for me, but I was wondering:

I assume swapping a factory single disc player with a factory 6 disc player will work (plug and play)?

Does anyone have any other recommendations on a decent priced aftermarket 6 disc changer? I figured that it wouldn't be to hard to come by an OEM 6 CD radio with everyone upgrading their radio but if there is a good aftermarket 6 disc radio that would be cheaper, than I would like to hear what you think?

Thanks,

I -think- you should be good to go if you utilize OEM upgrades. I went with a Pioneer HU and it wouldn't work at all with my factory 6-disc, so I had to get a Pioneer 6-disc as well (mounted in the console, almost exactly the same way).

That's what I'm doing. Decided earlier today. Thanks
