I have an '03 with a stock single cd player unit. Been having problems with the player recognizing my discs (keeps giving me "bad cd" message). Thought maybe it was only on the discs that I had burned , but it also happens with regular bought cds. Been reading the forums and it looks like this is a common problem with the stock head units. Tried cleaning the laser multiple times, still having problems. The player works very randomly but I usually have to forward the discs to song farther down the disc, then reverse to the first title in order to play the cd. Wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem. It seems that the unit may not be worth screwing around with and if so what aftermarket radio would be recommended in the $100-$150 price range.
