Running Ipod Cable
Running Ipod Cable
Alright... i've got an alpine CDA 9856 in my 98 f150... and i've got the corresponding ipod cable and ipod. i'm trying to run the cable into the glove box. anyone with any experience with this? any help or advice would be great. I've been going at this thing for a few hours and managed to drop my mini maglite back behind dash plate next to the right Ac/Heat duct with the control panel trim piece taken off. (d'oh) But if anyone has successfully run a cable to the glove box... a hand would be nice.

Regardless. getting to the glove box from the back of the HU should be a no brainer...its a cavern back there and you should almost be able to reach it by hand.
The glove box has two rubber push in catches that hold it in place...they are easy to push in and then the glove box just falls open to the floor...then you can reach through to the HU and get the Ipod wire.

im assuming you should have the same dash as my supercrew...i ran my ipod cable to the glovebox without even taking the glovebox off..i think the route i took went right above the pop out ash tray...only thing i had to remove was the dash bezel around the radio, the one that pops right off and must be removed to install any aftermarket radio...it wasnt very bad just have to work with it a little bit...i wish there was more i could tell you to help but i never really put a lot of thought into it when i ran it, just worked its way thru the dash til the ipod hookup end popped out in the glove box
