Switching from single cd to Audiophile

ok, first off let me say thanks for any reply's... this is my first truck and its all kinda new to me, sorry if this has been answered before... but by the sounds of it the audiophile HU requires a sub. can you have an audiophile and not the sub?? my 04 fx4 just has the stock single cd. amd my idea was to just swap the audiophile for the single cd(should just plug and play)... i take it by reading other posts that if you just swap the HU's you won't have bass at all in the truck... is this true? I have already purchased the new HU. also, by the sounds of it some trucks are pre-wired for the audiophile. was this standard for the FX4 package? (the wiring) or is it hit and miss? haha, anyways, thanks again.

I believe you're right - you won't have any low end without a sub. You could try to pick up a non-audiophile 6-disc MP3 player or add the sub.

From: NJ near the shore,ok not really
I had the reg 6 disc and there was no bass it sucked. Changed head units and added sub and it sounds slot better. You can find the subs all over the place, i also have an extra audiophile HU if interested!!
