Replacing with a OEM 6 disk

I have a 2004 F150 Lariat with the OEM single disk player. I would like to upgrade to a OEM 6 disk. Will any 2004-2007 DOUBLE DIN radio work. I have heard that something was different on the 2004. I want to stay with the OEM system so my steering wheel controls will still work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I have this same situation, except my truck is a 2000.

I want to ditch my single disc (it's my third factory one and it SUCKS), and I want to replace it with this:

^^^In-dash 6-disc CD Changer (from pre-'04 King Ranch I think)

Here's another one (though I'm not sure why the face is silver):

Will this wire up to my truck? I would really like to have this, but is it wise to pay for this or do you advise me to just spend the money on an aftermarket unit?

Thanks.

All controls should still work fine with a factory unit.

Is it a worth-while upgrade?

Depends on what you want. If you are keep stock speakers, and just like the idea of added capacity, then yes I would say it is. It does also upgrade the power output slightly (I believe) as well.

If you want a serious after market setup, then of course don't expect diamonds and pay for CZ.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not eally interested in a huge sound system upgrade, nor do I have the money for it at the moment. I suppose I could get the 6-disc but I'm so uneasy about buying another OEM product because of the last three failures. Perhaps I will go aftermarket and that will allow me to eventually upgrade my sound system as well.

Thanks again.

Probably your best bet! Go for it!

Replacing with a OEM 6 disk

One of the guys already mentioned this, but don't sweat the steering wheel controls if you go aftermarket. There's an add-on you can buy to maintain those controls. I don't know if it's a "one size fits all", but it was like $60 for my Alpine and it works fine.

I would strongly advise going the aftermarket direction, though. You were dead on - add it now, so if you want to continue to upgrade later you've already got it in place.

Good luck!
