question with head unit wiring and line converter

i have a 2006 f-150 with a non audiophile head unit. i was given a factory sub woffer with amp, i know i need a line converter to make the amp work can anybody help me with weather i tap the signal from the front speakers or the rear speakers for the sub woofer (factory 6cd mp3 player and factory subwoffer)

Tap the rear speaker wires that way you get full range that you can adjust the crossover on. Say your amp does have a built in crossover yes?

rears since your adding subs. Youll still retain fader functionality.
