swapping head units ?

I have an 04 lariat with the audiophile package. I want to swap out the head unit for one that was pulled out of an 06 or 07 expedition. Both units are 6 cd models but the newer one has line-out cabability and mp3 capability. It looks almost identical and fits right in (i tried it) my questions are..
1. the new radio has a different type of antenna connecter on it, it looks like it has a little pin in the middle. Is there an adapter for this?
2. I hooked it up briefly and the sub seemed to be working fine. will I lose anything or mess anything up hooking this up with the factory audiophile system? I could only test CD's because the antenna connectors didn't match
Thanks

1. Yes, there is an adapter. Some HU's have the traditional coax connector while other have a triax. Most major on-line stereo dealers have an adapter for this.

2. The 06 & 07 Expedition HU's are slightly more powerful than the F-150 HU's. I don't think that would be a problem.

The Expedition HU is 4 X 7.25" with a larger surround to fill in the DDIN gap while the F-150 HU's are 5 X 7.25" flush fit. Might look a little funny with the smaller HU in that big hole.

Thanks for the info, any chance radio shack will have that kind of adapter, i guess i'll give it a shot.

One more thing this radio from the expedition came with 6 months of sirious sattelite radio. does anyone know if the modulator is built into the head unit or is it possibly still in the expedition, seperate from the h/u.
I didn't see any sperate connection points on the back of the unit so how would it connect from the factory, thanks
