Steering Wheel Controls

Hello everyone. I just bought an 06 FX4 two days ago. It came with a single-disc/cassette head unit. I want to upgrade to the 6-disc mp3 unit. I would also like to add steering wheel controls if possible.

So, here's my question....can i just buy these controls and install them, and is it more difficult than just basically plugging them in (ie re-wiring)? Has anyone done this? Thanks for any replies.

I definetly don't know the answer to this one but I bet the costs would out weigh the benefit. I was after the same thing and my resolution was to buy a new head unit with a remote control.

Ford offers them from the lariat wheel, they will fit the fx4 wheel but you must get the whole set cause it moves the entire cruise to the left. I think it's about $120 retail.

Nice. Yeah, I noticed that it moves the cruise totally to the left side. I'm trying to find more info on all of this. Apparently I'd have to pull my steering wheel to install the buttons.

This might help. Down towards the middle is some steering wheel control adapters.
