I just got the alpine cda-9857 in my 06 SCREW, with the iPod adapter. It's incredible. I thought about getting the 9856, but in the end, for me, the wireless remote was the kicker. But so far I love this head unit. It sounds great. I had my iPod put in my center console, which is very convenient. I have to admit, I'm a little partial to Alpine, I have owned them for 15 years. But the 9857 is great.

Everything is controlled through the head unit. From what I have heard, Alpine is the only brand that will do that.

Do you have an amp, and subs hooked up too it....Because i was wordering how easy it is too hook an amp up to it.. Does it just plug right in from the amp or is it harder then that...The head unit i have right now just has the plugs hanging there and all i did was plug it right in....and also what kind of sub controles does it have...and can you fine tune it from the head unit....Thanks

I do not have any other aftermarket equipment in my truck other than the head unit. I can't imagine that it is difficult to hook up an amp or sub though.

Its out. I sell it and its in stock at my distributor. I am ordering one for my friend now, and probably one for myself as well, I cant help it! I would be happy to get any of you Pioneer stuff... Pretty much anything they make for car audio I can get you. I cant wait to see the new 9800 and how it works with the phone. I also have a couple of the new iPod adaptors on order already that should be sweet too.

And Alpine is NOT the only deck you can control iPod from. Pioneer's do it just fine.

Will the Alpines play a CD with MP3's on it or do I need an external MP3 player to listen to MP3s?

I had the Pioneer 9800 in my 87 blazer and 03 grand cherokee and it is BY FAR THE BEST HEAD UNIT EVER! Amazing sound quality, easy to use, amazing display and I love the iPod interface, thats what sold me on it the most.

It made it through 2 crashes, on in the blazer one in the jeep and still worked. I will be buying a new one for my 03 KR soon! (I dont have it anymore cause if i took it out of the jeep after the crash they were going to take $300 off what they were going to give us in settlement).

Overall....Best HU i know of
