My Kenwood Z828 says MP3 but when I burned a data(music) cd off Nero it would not play. Anyone know a solution?

make sure you are telling the burner program to "finalize CD"

I dont use nero but it should be an option somewhere in the setup before you actually burn the CD. I think its for CD-RW's, so you can add more stuff on at a later point. We don't want to add on more later - you cant with just a regular CD-R anyway. But if you burn a CD without telling it to "Finalize" most vehicle MP3 players, etc don't like the disc and spit it out.

Yeah, check the box "finalize CD" in the area where you choose the burn speed. -And you are using an ISO style cd too right?

Are the files you are burning mp3 files or wma files. That makes a huge difference. wma is the Windows Media format and is completely different that mpe. So if you headunit is mp3 capable and not wma, those files won't play.

The files are MP3 but I copyed the files through WMA(Rip Music) & I burned it through Nero.

Frostby Yes I did use CD-ROM(ISO) and it will not let me click "finalize cd".

I use Nero extensively and have found that if i burn CD's at the full speed of my burner that I get "Bad Disc" errors and the disk gets kicked out. This is a problem with many CD Burners and the CD-R's that you are using. I kicked it down to 8X from 40X for giggles one day (I am a computer guy for a living.) and every disc I have burned at that speed has never had a problem.

FYI MP3 is a standard compression used throughout the industry. .WMA "Windows Media Audio" is for Windows Media Player, and is Micro$ofts way of trying to control the world.

Before you start the burn with Nero on the final burn settings you will have some option toward the middle botton of the screen where it will say "writing"
under here you will find [] Alow files to be added later(multisession) make sure that the checkbox is not checked. If it is checked it will not finalize the disc and it will not play back. Also what kind of blank cd's are you using, brand and speed?

Good Luck

Will that change WMA to MP3? You are saying in CDROM(ISO) right? In multisession it is 3 options Start, No or continue multisession(which one). The blanks are Memorex 52X(700MB).

Some decks will not play discs burned with the 'track at once" or "disc at once", I cant remember which one it is, option selected. There is mention of this in the manual for the alpine 9853/9855, I dont know if it applies to other decks.
