newbie needs help

I just recently bought an 03 F-150 ext. cab and I need help getting the factory hu out. ive never owned a ford so i dont know where to start. Thanks in advance

Drive down to your local ford dealership and ask them to borrow the radio removal tool for a few minutes.
It's basically two U-shaped metal rods that hook into the deck and then pull it straight out. Simple

Here's a pic of my old head unit.. I circled where the tool hooks in on each side (Sorry for the glare, kinda cramped in the room where I leave all the stock parts)

I already have the tools to pull the radio out I was wandering if I need to pull the dash bezel apart?? Thanks

It kind of depends on which dash you have. Normally, I just pop off the trim panel around the radio for good measure.

Occasionally, Ford will run a piece of 2" clear packing tape around the HU so you can't pull it out without taking off the trim piece and removing the tape(more common in Rangers and Explorers).

My f-150, I pulled the stock deck out, wired up the new one and popped it into place. I never once touched the dash, or anything except the stock deck.

i saw your gallery and you dash looks very similar to mine, by the way props on the box, i hate buying prefabs
