I just bought a used 2000 Focus and it has an Alpine CHMS601 CD changer and I can't figure out whats wrong with it. The cds are playing according to the remote control readout but nothing comes out of the speakers. Is this one of those that have to be set on a specific FM station if so what station ------- If I press the CD button on the factory radio/cassette I get a NO CD readout on the display. The former owner said it works but so far I can't contact him.

 

put your stereo on fm, start the cd player and hit seek on your radio. It should stop on the correct frequency.

 

fm modulators are usually set on the lower channels, scan thru them until you hear your cd!
