Does a Double DIN Require a Custom Harness?

For those of you with the newer body style F-150 that have replaced the stock HU with a double din model...did it require a custom harness? A local stereo shop told me I would need a custom harness to hold a double din HU. I find this hard to believe with as many F-150s on the road...

No, he's right. It requires a custom harness which just so happens to be available at every circuit city, best buy, and walmart in the country.

You're gonna need a custom electrical harness and mounting kit. Wal-Mart is a good source, or just see what you need over at Crutchfield's web site.

Yeah don't go with the garbage walmart sells. Apparently even though they are name brand I learned the hardway that they are of a lesser quality from those you can get at best buy or a car audio store. The plastic is thinner and it looks so cheap.
