IF you buy this radio make sure the seller puts it in SHIP MODE. If that isn't done the cd mechanism will NOT survive shipment. I had it happen--
TO put radio in SHIP MODE--upon successful completion the display will say SHIPMENT
1)make sure all the disks are REMOVED before starting
2)With power to the unit (i.e. best to do this before removing the stereo from the truck), hold down the #1 preset button and the scan button simultaneously. You should see the word "Shipment" appear on the display. It will then read "Shipment On" until you disconnect the power.
3) I'm not positive, but I think when you reconnect the power it comes out of Shipment Mode on its own.
