Eclipse 5435 Question -- Burning a Disc -- What Format for Song Description?

If I burn a CD, what format does the song data need to be in so that I can see the artist and such via the CD screen display? ID3v1?

I use v2.2 and they come up great. Should work in any version though, although I heard the newer ID3 tag versions are flakey. They keep adding more and more crap to them, lyrics etc that make the tags more likely to get corrupted.

Thanks Waymond... do you have a recommended piece of software that can tweak these settings? Right now I simply pull the song up in Winamp and right click on it... from there, properties and tweak it all there.

I've yet to burn a disc to 'test the waters' but, I just thought I'd ask before I did it -- I'd like for it to work the first time.

I use itunes on the Mac and it defaults them to 2.2. Winamp should do the trick though.

Most of my pc user friends used Music match jukebox, but they switched to itunes once they bought a large drive and copied my music to it.
Music match would choke on a large library, it would tke minutes to start.

You should give itunes a try one day, alot of people are really suprised how good it is on a large library. If you do try it, uncheck "let itunes organise my music for me" (it ask you as its being installed,or the first time launching it), because it will reorganise your music in a artist/album file folder format.

Sorry I couldnt be of any more help.
