Which dimmer wire should I be using?

My Kenwood KVT-910DVD head unit has an orange wire that is supposed to go to "dimmer", but the Stock wiring harness has TWO orange wires. ONe I think is orange/black, the other as I recall is orange/white. Which one should I be connecting up to?

I beleive the one you are looking for is the orange and white... the orange and black is the dimmer ground.. I guess the orange and black (dimmer ground) isnt going to be used because with my pioneer wiring harness there is not dimmer ground...

I am running into some wiring issues as well the factory harness has 4 brown wires, 2 of which say mute on them.. then the pioneer wiring harness has yellow and black wire that says mute... I dont know whether I should splice both brown mutes with the yellow and black or just 1 brown with the yellow and black...

I think one of those mute wires may be for use with a hands free cell phone kit. When the phone rings it automatically mutes the radio. The other is the normal mute. I don't know which one is which, and sorry, I'm not pulling my dash apart again. lol.
I wouldn't advise splicing them both together though.

I'm pretty sure that you use the orange/white one like yahkeesfan81 said. Does Kenwood have tech support? I'm sure a simple phone call would get you a definite answer.

Hmm... is that in the aftermarket wiring harness or the factory one? If it's in the factory harness I got nothing. Sorry.

I'm not sure orange/white is correct. THe problem is that now my dash lights don't go on, which makes it hard to see my speed I had it connected to the orange/white and they still wouldn't go on with the orange/black just taped off. I'll try leaving the orange/white tapped off and connect the HU to the orange/black later and see if that makes a difference.

if one is really a ground, would it make sense that it actually should be grounded somewhere to get this to work?
