Red face fm modulator

has anyone ever used a wireless fm modulator i seen them on ebay and wondering if they are good. I have a 7 inch flipdown in my truck i want to put a dvd player in the center console , i need a way to hook up the audio and this looks like a good way to go no wires.

thanks for the help

I used FM modulation for Sat Radio in the past (wired). I set up my Father-In-Law's truck with XM and FM modulation (wireless). It's a proven way to get audio, but you definately sacraface quality. The center console on the '05 provides plenty of space to route wires, and provide power. I think in the long run, you'd be better off using the AUX button on you HU. The new PIE adapters work great. That's what I replaced my FM modulation with.

The part your looking for is called: "FRD04-AUX" and can be found at the following websites:

Read the application notes.

Sorry for the delayed reply. The unit I mentioned will NOT work with your 2002 HU.
There are two units for the 2002 found here: http://www.logjamelectronics.com/auxford.html

From LogJam:
We are told that there are a few Ford 6-disc in-dash CD head units that will work with the Aux Input Converters. You should remove your head unit, and get its model number, then phone PIE's Tech Support at 1-800-330-9754 to ask if your model has been successfully tested with the adapters.

I use an audiovox wired modulator for anything I can straight wire in, and it is powered and switched. It works wonders for clarity. It ran me about $30 wholesale. I have a few NIB and one used if you want one from a definate source
