I have the stock 6 disc changer in the supercab of my 98 F150. Recently, I put in the cartridge that holds the discs and it will file through all of them and then display no disc on the hu, even though there are 6 cds in the cartridge. Anyone else experienced this problem? What is the solution to it?

Considering normal use, the lifespan of a average CD laser is 6-8 years. Typically, the CD player will become a little finiky/tempermental and steadily decline to the point where the laser can no longer generate a beam strong enough to read.

Your CD changer has probably met the end of its lifespan and needs to be replaced. 7-8 years is a pretty good run.
