2005 CD6/MP3 Audiophile Installation Question

I am wanting to switch out the CD6 I have in my 2005 F-250 for a CD6/MP3 Audiophile head unit from a 2005 F-150. Does anyone know how easy it will be to make this head unit mount and fit in my dash? I am really wanting to do this upgrade as I cannot understand why Ford does not offer this radio option in the F-250. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.

The F-250's use the same CD6 as the F-150, so I imagine the Audiophile would fit just fine. The Audiophile unit has an extra plug for the subwoofer. The 05 F-150's wiring harness has the extra plug/wiring already installed. They just tape the subwoofer plug out of the way on the wiring harness if you don't have the Audiophile. I'm not sure if the F-250 would also have the subwoofer plug/wiring already installed.

You might not want to buy the Audiophile since it has lowpass filters that block all bass going to the door speakers since it is made for use with the Ford factory subwoofer.

Like I posted on another thread, I swapped my single unit for an Audiophile I bought off e-bay for 300 bucks shipped and it has worked Fine for me. Installation was super simple with the console popping out and the 4 screws holding the stereo, it just plugged right in. Sounds good and adds alot of features. I don't have the wiring for the bass but I will be adding a double din later in the future so this was only a band-aid of a fix for the BIG happy ending with an ALPINE or ECLIPSE.
