Wal-Mart HU

after reading the Alpine 9830 vs Pioneer 7700 debate, I've been on the lookout while out and about at various stores to try one of these things out in person.

one nite, while I was looking around in the automotive section at headunits, I saw the Pioneer 7700! I've always been skeptical of buying electronics from wal-mart (road gear or jensen ring a bell?), so is this a sign?

unfortunately, the headunit wasn't installed for customer's to tinker with. it was behind a locked plexiglass cabinet. in any essence, i'm a little weary of what i just saw...

Yeah, it's a sign that you need to buy it, put your old HU in the box and return it to walmart... FREE 7700!

Note: I am not to be held responsible for this post's overall message, cheating an over grown, **** corporation out of money is a bad bad thing.

Note 2: I am one of the many disgruntled walmart associated.

If its a retail packaged unit, I dont see a problem with buying it there. Go where you can find the best price.

There are alot of places on eBay that are reputable, and they have HUs REAL cheap (BUT their shipping is not cheap...so you dont necessarily end up that far ahead).
I would go to a car stereo store, or even a place like circuit city or best buy, and tinker with both and see which you like better.

$254.99 + 7% tax = $272.83

seems a bit much imo...the Internet's cheaper

Wal Mart

If I worked for an overgrown **** corporation that I hated enough to instruct people to commit felony theft, I would quit.

Well it is associate, pardon my misspelling...

and as for the whole walmart thing, yes, I am an unhappy employee of walmart inc. BUT we are one of Walmart trademark towns, where they've taken over and destroyed pretty much all signs of competition, and with my school schedule it's either work for them, or don't pay the bills... so... yeah. And I've heard of that switcheroo being done with stereo's and speakers, I've never done it (And would never do it) myself but at the same time find it quite humorous...

Either way, yes, the Pioneer you buy at Walmart will be the exact same one you get off crutchfield or ebay, so if Walmart is your best buy, then that's the one to go with.
