2 questions

OK Ive got two questions 1st I have an 01 Screw Lariat with the cassette in the head unit and 6 disc changer in the console so i dont want nor do i need to change the head unit, but i want to install subwoofers and an amp so my question is do the factory head units have rca preouts or do i have to replace the head unit to run an amp? question 2 is there anything on the market to hardwire an ipod to my truck so i dont have to use a crappy FM modulator thingy (I think thats the technical name) so if anyone can help me I thank you in advance because as of tomorrow i will be away from my computer for 2 weeks. thanks

No, the stock HU's dont have RCA outputs. But, If you get a Line Out Converter, you can run an amp on the stock HU. Taps into the speaker outputs, and changes the signal to low level (RCA's).
Can get one about anywhere. Cost about 15 bucks. Make sure to get an adjustable one.

So far I dont think there is any way to hard wire an IPod in. FM Modulator is the only way Im pretty sure.
They make things that go in the tape deck dont they (like for portable cd players)? But then you got wires hangin' everywhere.

Alpine decks have direct adapters to hook up your I-pod so say by to that crappy fm mod....
