Ready to buy.... 2 Choices.... which one?

Ive narrowed my search down to two choices for a HU. They are the Pioneer DEH-P4700MP and the Kenwood KDC-MP528. They both put out 50W peak and 22 RMS. The Pioneer is way more user friendly, as each button on the Kenwood has 4 different functions. However, I must say that the Kenwood does look better. The both sound great, but I believe that the pioneer has a better equalizer.....

So which one do I go with? Ive heard that Kenwood has better "quality" products, but havent ever experienced them.

BTW... I have Pioneer 3 ways in all the doors.... If that helps at all.

THANKS!

Have you considered one of the Eclipse AVN units? It installs rally nice, and it's double-din so it filles the entire radio area and looks somewhat like a stock setup.

When buying Pioneer...buy Premier. They have double the warranty and more features while the price is usually <$25 more.

buy the premier 470 from
audio-warehouse.com for like $140

I just replaced my 7500 with a 670 and they both really rock. Best value only alpine I think are better but twice as much to get the same features.

I've always went w/ Pioneer HU in my vehicles. I have had two one in my 95 Explorer Sport and currently in my 98 F-150. They are fairly user friendly compared w./other aftermarket HU's. Also, I love the Blue day & night display. No problems to report as of yet.

Check out Crutchfield.com they have a great selection, awesome prices, and will tell you what units will fit your vehicle. When you go the site just choose your vehicle it's as easy as that. Plus, included in the price, they will send the custom fit kit along w/ wiring harness and everything else that is needed to install yourself. This will save you on labor costs. I have limited electric knowledge and I have so far installed both of my HU's from Crutchfield. They send detailed instructions......I really could not believe how E-Z they were to install.

Good Luck!!!!!

I have a 4600(last years version of the 4700) and its pretty nice. Has pretty good adjustment/flexability, and it plays MP3's and WMAs. Plus it was cheap.

I also agree, if they have the Premiers, get them. They cost the same price around here, higher voltage pre amp outputs, more sets of pre amp outputs etc. Only reason I didnt go premier is the place I got mine didnt have them, and they where way cheaper than the other place that carried pioneer/premier.

My girlfriend got a Pioneer Premier HU for her '97 Mustang, and it's awesome. I am thinking about getting a similar one. I talked her out of a Kenwood, because I had a bad experience.
