Need a Wiring Harness

Hey fella's...I'm looking at buying the Alpine CDA-9830 XM-ready deck and therefore in need of a wiring harness. It's going in a 1997 F-150 Ext. Cab.

I bought my last head unit from crutchfield, but I'm hoping buying the headunit and wiring harness seperate may be considerably cheaper...Thanks!

for some reason I am super intimidated about this wiring harness thing. i'm under the impression that each harness is vehicle and head-unit specific...

i already have a wiring harness installed in my on my current Rockford Fosgate deck...will this old harness work with the new headunit i'm looking at?
