Talking You want hoods? you get hoods!

Well here ya go zoran, you wanted me to research up on the differnt hoods for ya, so here's what i've come up with. i started a new gallery just for the hoods, so if anybody has any others that i'm missing, please let me know and i'll throw them in the gallery. it'll come in handy for any newbies we get, or anybody else researching on which hood they should get.

"its a hood bonanza" was a great thread, but most of the pics have been deleted from the galleries, so i think its time for an updated one.

here's some of the info thepawn posted on that thread.

the credit for this info goes to him

These are more or less accurate numbers:
Stock hood = 20lbs (aluminum)
Kaminari hood = 22lbs (carbon fiber) $795
APC Scoop hood = 24lbs (carbon fiber) $707
ProFinish Shaker Hood = 32lbs (fiberglass) $895 ($765 from LFP)
KeyStone RamAir = 39lbs (steel) $895
Cervini RamAir = 41lbs (fiberglass) $439
Relfexxion Cowl = 42lbs (steel) $510
Cervini Cowl = 44lbs (fiberglass) $439 -- cervini's also makes a clip on cowl hood only for race for $139 I think?.
AAD Cobra Hood = 43lbs (fiberglass) $595
ProGlass Cobra Hood = 4x(?)lbs (fiberglass) $???

and now for the pics. hope nobody mines me using their pics

Great job on the info and hood pictures! I have the Reflexxon Ram Air Cowl on my 02' Harley. Got it from the local Ford Dealer for $675 PAINTED! Listed at $1,200 big.

Thumbs up

Excellent job of gathering and presenting the hood data!

Here's a silly question from a bloke who's never really considered replacing the stock hood, but likes the looks of some of these:

Other than asthetics, what advantages are there to installing an aftermarket hood since they all appear to be heavier than stock? Do any of these provide an intake advantage that overcomes the additional weight?
