Just messin w/ya StillFly.

1JT, Chester has offerred to take over the website creation. He has a lot more experience than me and has enlisted the help of someone in his office for graphics art, etc.

That's good, cause it will look a lot better than if I did it.

The website is in it's paper form A few sketches on paper, nothing substantial yet in terms of LOC. Target is before end of the year, I get the TOC, SM, widgets, includes and photo album.

I'll keep you guys posted when I have something to show

Lightbulb T-shirts

My offer still stands if you guys want to have shirts embroidered. My mother-in-law does this as a business and it's top notch. Not only is the embroidery high-quality, the shirts/hats/whatever is all really nice stuff too.

I'm not sure what she charges, but if you have a total quantity, I could find out easily enough. I imagine it would be cheaper than silkscreened t-shirts.

Let me know. You can reach me at:

Thanks, dermaestro. When we get to that point we will keep you in mind. We still want to get the cards made and the website up and running first.

I will email the BMP file to anyone who wants it. Then we can print up our own cards (That is what I am doing for now). Then we can decide on the possibilites of professional printing.

Very good looking. You might condsider running the logo by Harley-Davidson to get their blessing.

the logo is fine, you have to change it like by 20% or something, and thiers is more than that.
thats how the guys at the kansas city plant make their shirts without having to get HD's permission. just change the logo around a bit, and change the font and wording and its fine

Thanks, 4WL HOGG. I may go to Kinko's or Office Depot or something and get a quote for a raised logo. I'll check online too.

Harley 356,
The legal test for trademark infringement is liklihood of confusion. In this case whether H-D is sponsoring or endorsing the logo. They own the trademark "Harley" and so the issue thus arises.

i'm almost positive though showya said that these shirts were made with no trouble though. like they had permisssion without getting the copywrite junk or whatever.

they just changed the logo slightly, resized the emblem, removed the dash, etc...

Harley 356,
I can tell you to a legal certainty that, unless H-D licensed the use of their registered marks, the T-shirt constitutes a trademark infringement.

I have practiced intellectual property law for 24 years and can also tell you that H-D is EXTREMELY fussy about its trademarks. They derive a very significant proportion of their revenue from trademark licensing.
