Thumbs up Marc Carpenter

Marc, I saw on your post today about carrying a can of fix a flat on your glide. You can free up that room in your saddlebags and take a load off your mind as well. I have been using PJ1 Liquid Tire Balance for 7 years. It is AWESOME stuff. Not only does it keep your tires balanced at ALL speeds, it also will instantly seal ANY punctures up to 1/4 inch in diameter....NO MORE blowouts/flats. It will NOT freeze, solidify or "gob" up. It is water soluable and easy to clean up the rims. This stuff is so great! I am going to put it in my truck tires as well. NOTHING beats liquid balancers!

BTW the milage you get out of a set of tires with this stuff will double.

Thanks for the input Fepony. I will definately look into this product.
Mileage on tires is not really an issue with me yet, as although I hate to admit it, I have only put 4500 miles on the Glide in almost 3 years. I love the wind in my face, but racing the Lightning has overwhelmed me for the past few summers.
An occasional late summer afternoon 75 to 100 miler with the wife , or a weekend get away when the drag racing bug lightens is about the only mileage I get on it.
I assume the "Fepony" handle must relate to owning, or having owned a big block Mustang. Love those FE motors. I have bulit several, and more than likely will again as I still have a bunch of
motor parts laying around.Even have a 66 428 PI block in the garage.
Thanks again, and I will look into it.

Marc

Talking 1/4 times for 2 wheel HD

Well my bike times aren't too shabby. The reaction times sucked. (caught me sleeping at the line) This is with full saddlebags, (we were on a road trip) and fully inflated rear tire.

2.112 60ft.

5.717 330ft.

8.696 1/8th mi. @ 83.42 mph

13.587 1/4 et. @101.21

FEPony,

Everyone thinks your into old Ford big blocks with the FE handle. Just change it to Iron Horse so there is no confusion.

Talking Dual use?

I am a man of many facets. Fe does in fact have more than 1 use.

No doubt in my mind that FE has many meanings.I was just being presumptuous.

Marc....I can relate to spending a fortune on FE parts. My last 68GT Mustang Fastback had a 427 sideoiler with Tunnel port heads and a custom tunnel ram with 2 - 1050 Holly dominaters. Where talking big bucks!!!

Where do you get Liquid Tire Balance and how do you install it? Flat tires in the middle of nowhere and colliding with deer are two big concerns of mine when I ride my Harleys.

That tire balancer stuff is called PJ1- Balance Plus, the part number is 53-9034, that is a Bikers Choice #, but any dealer should be able to look it up. You can order it straight thru HD or your local bike shop, or any aftermarket parts discounter like Wallys or J&P (although J&P will cost you about 30% more). You can usually get the 8 oz bottle for about $7-$9.

For the record, this stuff does work great. I have it in all my bikes.

Oh yeah, to install, you have to remove your valve core from the valve stem. I usaully run hot water over the PJ1 bottle for about 15 min to get the contents thinned out. Then you simply attach one end of the 6 inch clear hose (included) to the PJ1 bottle and the other end to the valve stem. Then squeeze away. Takes all of 5 min. Reinstall the valve core, air us the tire and your on your way.

It should work on our truck tires. You may need to use a bigger bottle than the one they sell for bikes.
