Well...I too have finally decided to log on after reading the adventures for the last year or so.

Currently, I have an '01 HD, and have decided that the 02's and 03's are having way too much fun. so the wife and i are shopping for an new '03. Here's the question...has anyone seen a two tone version at a dealership? Several of the dealers here in the Houston area have 03's...but they'er all the Black version. We want to see the two tone before we make a decision. Has anyone heard of any sort of delay on the two tones hitting the delaers?

Thanks for the reply. I had seen this link previously and checked it out. This is the only two tone HD (at a dealer) that I have seen...and this dealer is in Michigan. Just wanting to be sure that there’s not an issue with the two tone’s.

They had problems with the two-tone paint at the beginning of production...but all those problems are solved and they are now being built.

I am still trying to decide between all black or two-tone.

 

yup, there were some issues with the quality of the 2 toned paint and the edges of each panel lining up straight, so if you were to take off the pinstripe, the paint line would be level all the way down. I'm pretty sure most of those issues have been worked out, but if i were you, and wanted a 2 tone, i wouldn't get one of the low production # ones, like the one on that auction, cuz they were made while they were trying to resolve those issues. I'd say any 03 twotoneds past build #300 would be fine, but i'd rather be safe than sorry.
and they only made 03HD #1,000 on friday or saturday i think, so production has been slow to start out with this year.
