Lightbulb Moonroof sliding back on acceleration: Fix

This was posted on the other site, so i thought i'd spread the info over here for anybody that isn't over there also

Some guys with 02's when they accelerate their moonroof shade flys open. A couple of the guys have stuck a piece of velcro (smooth side) into the channel and its fixed the problem. just thought i'd share the tip

Thanks for posting that Josh.
For me, I always have the shade open. My problem, well it's not really a problem, is that it slides about halfway closed during normal driving. Same thing when I had my 2001 XLT Screw, never really tried to fix it since I could ignore most of the time.

Thanks for the info 356.

My shade does fly open during sudden accerlation, which is all the time.

I never thought about fixing it, it doesn't really bother me.

I don't have a problem with my sunroof sliding open (I keep it open), however, I do have a problem with it sliding closed on agressive braking.

I'm curious? What determines if the shade is half opened, or half closed...

I think it will be the starting point as reference.

If the owner has it opened already, and it moved, he refers to it as half closed.

If the owner has it closed, and it moved, her refers to it as half opened.

if its open then it slides 1/2 way forward, then that's 1/2 closed
if its closed then slides 1/2 way back, then thats 1/2 open

*edit* ah damn, chester beat me to it
