this is what it looked like at 7 this morning....about an inch, can barely see my ram air hood

about 5" and its still coming down really hard!

I had to push all the snow off the tonneau cover cuz with it separating i don't want all that weight on there. I did that about 20 minutes ago and there already is a 1/2" of snow on the cover again




and the work truck...which will be getting driven as long as there is salt on the roads



can barely see our little hyundai in the backround cuz its so covered. LoL

and you guys know me the post/pic ***** that i am...expect more pics if we get another few inches or so, which i expect we will cuz its coming down hard. LoL!

 

Hey Josh...

That really blows. So you are planning on driving the work truck until the snow is gone? Is the work truck yours? If so...when did you get it and for how much? How much is insurance? (I WANT ONE!) Anyways...great pics...i knew you would be posting some you *****.

 

It would serve you right if your trucks ran away from home.
How can anyone treat a truck like that???
They should all be bundled up in your garage safely inside of
a nice warm California car cover..

Yup thats the work truck, and i'll be driving that until the snow and salt is all gone hopefully. I usually do drive that truck anyways and just the HD for cruising. Its an 85 F150, 5.0 V8. 130K miles and still running awsome. mostly all original with the engine and all that. just a rebuilt tranny, 2nd battery and headlights, 3rd manifold, but other than that, mostly all original and still running great. How much? 12,500......back in may of 1985 brand new My dad used it as a work truck in the construction and remodeling business since it was new, and it still gets used for that and daily driven. Not too many miles now a days though cuz between the 3 vehicles it only gets about 5K a year on it. The HD gets about 10K a year, but now that we've got the hyundai, that will get spit between the two pretty evenly.

It cleans up nicely when i decide to do it...which is only like 4 time a year at most, but its in great shape for being so old and a construction truck.

 

Marc, believe me, if i had a garage, or even a car cover for that matter, it would be all snuggled up nice and warm and snow free! Unfortunatly i don't have a garage, and can't afford to build one, and don't have the money saved up yet for a cali cover cuz i need a custom one for the HD. It'll come in time, and i'll make it up to my truck She'll be washed a.s.a.p, and this spring she'll be put up on jack stands and cleaned completely! Meaning me on my creeper washing the ENTIRE underside of the truck by hand, taking out the spare and giving it a coat of polish, entire underhood, interior, bed, practically anything and everything i can think of to clean. probably take me 25 hours to do it all along with an oil change and tire rotation

 

We got a little bit of it here in Tulsa. It started out as freezing rain and turned into to snow. I learned that my truck does not like this stuff. With just a little bit of wet haze on the highway, at 45-50mph I could barely press the gas a little more and the rear end would get loose. It was a tense drive home. But I made it.

Harley #356, you sound like me.
If I get a spot on dirt on my trucks, I get obsessively compulsive and spend hour after hour cleaning them.
I take the Lightning to the strip and cover it in VHT and rubber, then go home and clean, clean, clean. Neighbors set on their decks and watch and just shake their heads.
My equipment, my decision.
They make medication for people like us but I don't want none !!!
A Budwieser and a bucket and I am one happy SOB.....

Josh - I had the same situation this morning but I realy didn't think about taking pictures, just cleaning the driveway and the truck.

I am extending my garage so I can get the truck in there but my contractor has fallen way behind. He just finished the footings and foundation.

Oh well I'll be ready for next winter.

 

Just started snowing here in Mass. at noon. Glad I have a company vehicle for the week and a garage for the HD.

 

Those pics sure make me glad that I live in Arizona.

It is still in the 70's here.

If I lived where some of you did, I would definetly have another vehicle.

 

It's in the low 80's during the day here and once the sun sets it drops into the low 70's. It's nice. Anyways...I looked on KBB and it said I could get an '85 F150 with 120,000 miles for $1800. Makes me wonder whether I might want to get one. Do you know how much insurance is for someone our age?

I'm not sure exactly what it is. we just had ours switched around when we got the hyundai for a beater.
If you get an old f150, try to get a later 85, or an 86-on. My 85 was a november of 84 build and was one of the last with a carb. they have some trouble with stalling in the winter. you really have to let it warm up for like 10 minutes at least, shut it off for about 5 minutes, then restart it and let it warm for 5 more minutes before ya go, cuz in the really cold weather like this, it'll like to stall. i put in a manual choke which helped alot, but still needs to warm up good...wait a sec. what am i telling you this for, you are in FL, what do you have to worry about snow and the cold for

anyway, its up to 8" now. they are calling for 10"+. the news said this is more snow just today than all that we had last year combined! I'll have to get some more pics tonight, the trucks just look like two white blobs
