I'm pretty sure it is. they are the same engines, just different tunes/upper pullies, and a few other minor things, but i'm pretty sure its the same on the HD. as for how to do it, i have no clue

from what I've read....... it is preset at the factory..... 8lbs for the L's...... it can be adjusted to where these guys were getting 10-10.5lbs of boost from a stock L, instead of the 8.

What the boost actuator does is control when the boost comes on. You can adjust it so you go into boost at the slightest application of throttle. I would leave it alone. The only people netting more boost are from the ones that were supposed to be not operating in the full range...

If you screw it up, you will be messing with it for days...

What Ken said:
Here's a link to how to do it, with pics.

It does not increase the boost. It changes the throttle position at which the boost is dumped or not. Go one way, and you won't get any boost till WOT; the other way, and your pushing max boost as soon as you put you foot on the pedal.

Is the actuator the same as the boost bypass?

It's not worth it.......don't waste your time. I played with mine for 2 weeks when I first got my L and soon realized I was spinning my wheels.......no pun intended.

From what I understand the boost bypass is a feature that releases boost pressure when the truck is changing gears. The bypass mod will not let the pressure leave the sc.

The boost acctuator is a setting that will adjust when the the boost starts (when the supercharger actually starts to compress the air and load the engine). Our super chargers are not 'always' running they only run when we use our throttle pretty hard. This mod can make your truck supercharger come on faster (quicker response, less mpg) or slower (only turns on when you step on it, better mpg). From what people are saying, it is not something you want to mess with unless you plan on tweaking it for a while.

I am not sure, I just wanted to confirm my understanding of the two mods.

Everything you have said about the 2 mods is correct except.....
The Eaton's are always running, but the engine does not always have compressed air entering it.

Talking factory settings

You know, after reading this thread, I wonder if my trucks boost is coming on a tad early...maybe that's why I keep busting loose on launch and it is staying on thru the shift giving me those hard, snappy shifts that make it drop a little rubber in 2nd. If it is, I really should send cards to my "build team"....

Can somebody, please, post picture where actuator is supposed to be on '02 HD? I looked for 15 minutes and could not find anything like pic from other board on my truck.

Thanks in advance!
