Pulley and Chip Question for Slingshot

Slingshot
I am presently using a 6# pulley and a Superchip (flip) on my HD. I am thinking of switching to an 8# and replacing the chip. I hear people complaining about driveability issues with Diablo and some other chips. I think the main issues were surging and erratic shifting. How does your truck run? I am pleased with my Superchip except for a bit of detonation at tip in. Other than that it runs like a stocker. It sounds like JLP and others may have a better performance program than Superchips, I just want to avoid driveability issues. Anybody out there running high boost feel free to jump in.

Even though all (or most) of the blown HD engines I have heard of appear to have been from less than reputable tuners, they all had one thing in common: 8LB lower...

I'm sticking with my 6#. I am not that brave (yet)...

If the 3 HP and 10 lbs/TQ are worth the extra risk, time, and money...go for it! I wouldn't though

Just some minor surging when decelerating (coasting) downhill... I don't mind it--as I've said before, the gain in performance is worth it! As far as the boost question??? Take your altitude and air density into consideration. Get a combo that will raise your boost level to 13-14 lbs... plenty extra 'oomph', not over-boosting it.
I live at 2500 ft and have average air density of 3500-5000 ft. With an 8 lb lower I put down 12.5-13.5 lbs depending on weather and barometric pressure. Driving in east Texas in cool air, I show 14.5 lbs--too much IMHO (others will differ with that). So--If I lived at or near sea level (1500 ft or less), I would go with a 6 lb lower. Above that--8 lber.
